Most process improvement initiatives, particularly in government, are complicated, slow and not very flexible. In 2017, Tulsa County, began using a four-step process improvement tool that is simple, engaging, flexible, quick and effective. In this session you will experience the tool by creating your own plan, with actions, timelines, and measurements, for improving a system or problem in your workplace. At the end of this session participants will: Understand the system view process improvement tool Identify key processes that need to be improved Create a process improvement plan using the system view tool For more than a decade, Alan Vanderburg has been an international speaker on Process Improvement and Emotional Intelligence. His ability to simplify complex topics, such as process improvement and emotional intelligence and align them to practical life applications has connected with audiences in America, Europe and China. Alan’s humorous and energetic presentations have led to presentation to accounting, information technology, human resources and government groups. His work experience includes Business development, HR consulting, team and individual coaching, strategic planning, and project leadership. Over the years Alan has used the tool combination of Emotional Intelligence, Neuroscience and the Edward Deming methodology to improve industries such as manufacturing, banking, small business and government. Alan’s mission is “Dedication to developing businesses and people”. Alan has a master’s degree in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior from Southern Nazarene University.
