"Using Posters to Facilitate"

Everyone has a mix of learning styles. The three key styles are:

• kinaesthetic (learning through 'doing')
  
• auditory (learning through talking and listening)
  
• visual (learning through looking)
  

Sixty-five percent (65%) of students are in the 'visual learning' group, which is the reason visual learning resources, like teaching posters for classrooms, are so valuable.

Posters can serve as visual reminders for tasks; heighten memory function for challenges; energize classroom settings; and instill pride and psychological ownership in teams, who develop them.

Dr. Brigitte Steinheider is an Associate Professor of Organizational Dynamics in the Psychology Department at the University of Oklahoma - Tulsa. In this workshop, she will discuss the role of posters as a tool for facilitating the learning process; developing and practicing team work skills; and encouraging creative thinking. Dr. Steinheider will also share how posters have enhanced her graduate program for the past 12 years. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to practice this 'low tech, high touch' activity and discuss its potential in training. Please join us for this riveting presentation!
