Monday: Four Experiential Learning Activities for Corporate Programs
It’s important for organizations to improve their internal learning and development program to ensure their employees are prepared to answer the complex challenges that often characterize the modern business environment.
This premise leads us to focus the discussion on experiential learning and its growing popularity within corporate development programs. While traditional methods such as lecture-based training focus on learning before doing, experiential learning emphasizes and “facilitates learning through doing,” according to Nikos Andriotis of eFront.
Experiential learning places participants in a safe space where they are exposed to real-world situations and practice relevant career skills without the risks commonly associated with training employees on the job. Read More
If you find people aren’t partaking in what you’re offering, take a hard look at the content —and your approach to it. Consider whether the topics are right and at the same time make sure your content is available through a variety of channels so people can learn in the way that works best for them.
If the content you’re using isn’t the right stuff in the right format, it’s not going to work. Put another way, you should offer content through the channels and devices that employees are using outside of work.
Organizations should focus on how to give employees effective forums to communicate new knowledge, as well. Explore the use of social media, access to self-directed learning platforms and online learning centers as well as virtual or face to face communities. Bear in mind that learning needs differ, not just from individual to individual or age group to age group, but from topic to topic. Check out the ATD Community Content.

The truth is, it doesn’t take a lot for a stakeholder to see the slightest drop in performance and conclude that “training will fix this issue!” And this is where the majority of training requests come from.
In this post, we’ll explore some of the situations when training is not the answer. Read more: https://timslade.com/blog/training-is-not-the-answer/
