Vision: Create a World that Works Better Mission: Empower Professionals to Develop Talent in the Workplace
Valued members, friends, and associates of the Tulsa Chapter of the Association for Talent Development:
I am Skip Eller, your Tulsa ATD Chapter President-Elect for 2015. As we prepare to begin our 66th year, thank you for your support and interest in ATD Tulsa! I am proud to report that our 65th year has been a very successful one!
In case you haven’t heard, The American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) is now the Association for Talent Development (ATD) with a global reach. In keeping with this change, the Northeast Oklahoma Chapter has changed our name as well. We are now, officially, the “Tulsa Chapter of the Association for Talent Development” or simply “ATD Tulsa.” We are proud to be the premiere professional resource for all training, talent, and organizational development specialists in Tulsa and throughout Northeastern Oklahoma.
We have a strong Board of Directors under the leadership of our current President, Steve Laswell. We continue to host fun, informative meetings that are tied to our core competencies and strive to be the one monthly professional gathering you don’t want to miss! In addition to our programs, we host great networking opportunities and special programs such as a Training Design Basics workshop facilitated by our own Dr. Chris Woodard and a presentation from Tulsa’s own Jim Stovall.
We have a big year ahead and are looking for talented professionals to help us build on our great tradition of service to the talent development community. This year, multiple individuals may be nominated for positions, instead of one slate. To that end, nominations are now open for our 2015 Board of Directors for the following positions:
If you are interested in joining our great Board of Directors, I hope you will self-nominate or nominate a fellow ATD member by completing the nomination form and returning it to me by Tuesday, September 30th.
To qualify, nominees must be members in good standing:
Board meetings are usually held once per month, either in person or via webinar or teleconference a minimum of nine times throughout the year.
Elections will be at our regular chapter meeting on November 14, 2014. If you have specific questions regarding the responsibilities of each position, please refer to the chapter’s Bylaws on the chapter website.
Again, I hope you will consider self-nominating or nominating one of your talent development professional colleagues. If you have any additional questions, please contact me at skip.eller@cn-bus.com or 918-384-7894.
Best wishes for continued success in 2014. I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming meeting!
Skip Eller, 2015 President-Elect
